Iltutmish

Shams ud din Iltutmish, or Altamash, was the third Sultan of Delhi, and the only other significant ruler, besides the founder Qutb ud din Aibak, of the Slave Dynasty. After the establishment of the Delhi Sultanate, Multan became its western frontier. In the beginning it was governed by Nasir-ud-Din Qabacha, then captured by jaial-al-Din Manakabarni and finally annexed by Shams-ud-Din Altamash. Altamash was the first king to appoint a woman as his official successor. He completed the famous Qutub Minar in Delhi, started by the founder of the dynasty, Qutb ud din Aibak.
