Illegal Immigration Reform And Immigrant Responsibility Act

The Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act (Pub L. 104-208) is a 1996 United States law aimed at reducing illegal immigration into the country. Signed into law in 1996. It includes increases in criminal penalties for immigration-related offenses, authorization for increases in enforcement personnel, and enhanced enforcement authority.
