Horbury

Horbury is a small town, west of Wakefield in Yorkshire. It has a population of around 15,000. It is known for being a pleasant and picturesque town and was in the past more economically diverse than most of West Yorkshire. During World War II the factory of Charles Roberts made Churchill tanks. This factory was in the area of Horbury known as Horbury Junction after the large railway junction there. Horbury is known as the home of Onward, Christian Soldiers, the hymn by Sabine Baring Gould.
