Holden Barina

The Holden Barina is a small supermini-sized car. It was first launched in 1985 as a badge-engineered version of the Suzuki Cultus. A Road Runner special model was offered in the first year in addition to the standard Barina five-door hatchback, complete with decals showing the Warner Bros. cartoon character. The high-profile marketing campaign featured the words, 'Beep beep Barina,' a catchphrase that remains in the consciousness of many Australians in the 2000s. After two generations of being a Cultus twin, Holden began sourcing its Barina from General Motors' Spanish plant in 1993. The cars were identical to the Opel Corsa B. From 1993, the Barina's history is identical to that of the Corsa. The Barina was Wheels magazine's Car of the Year for 2001. Barina
