Hillcrest is a village located in Brazoria County, Texas. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 722.

Geography

Hillcrest is located at 29°23'36" North, 95°13'24" West (29.393222, -95.223406). According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.1 km² (0.4 mi²). 1.1 km² (0.4 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 722 people, 262 households, and 221 families residing in the village. The population density is 633.6/km² (1,655.7/mi²). There are 271 housing units at an average density of 237.8/km² (621.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 95.15% White, 0.55% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.42% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 2.77% from other races, and 1.11% from two or more races. 5.96% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 262 households out of which 32.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 77.1% are married couples living together, 4.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 15.3% are non-families. 13.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.76 and the average family size is 3.02. In the village the population is spread out with 23.0% under the age of 18, 6.5% from 18 to 24, 21.7% from 25 to 44, 33.0% from 45 to 64, and 15.8% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 44 years. For every 100 females there are 95.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 90.4 males. The median income for a household in the village is $63,889, and the median income for a family is $66,563. Males have a median income of $53,214 versus $31,354 for females. The per capita income for the village is $25,055. 5.0% of the population and 4.5% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 4.0% of those under the age of 18 and 4.0% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
