Herbert Tichy

Herbert Tichy (* June 1, 1912 Vienna; September 26, 1987 Vienna) author, geologist, journalist and climber.

Biography

In 1935 Tichy travelled with a motorcycle from Austria to India. He also travelled to the Kailash in Tibet. He worked as Journalist in China during World War II. First ascent of Cho Oyu on October 19, 1954 with Sepp Jchler and Pasang Dawa. Several expeditions and books in the following years: Tichy, Herbert Tichy, Herbert Tichy, Herbert
