Hegyvidk

Hegyvidk is a neighbourhood in the XII (12th) district of the city Budapest, capital of Hungary. It's a region of Buda (the west bank of river Danube). Being the only district in Buda which does not connect to the river Danube, it lies on the green, hilly suburban area of Budapest (hence the name, Hegyvidk, which means "hilly area"). It borders 2nd district (Rzsadomb area) to the north, the 1st district (Castle district) to the east and 11th district (Kelenfld) to the south. Its western border marks the border of the whole city as well. Hegyvidk is said to be the lung of Budapest, as it gives place to most of the untouched green forests of the city and it also houses the largest hill of the entire urban area, Jnos hegy (translated as John Hill, 527 m above sea level). The district lies on 26.7 square kilometers and has around 75 thousand inhabitants. It has several micro-regions: Budakeszierdő, Csillebrc, Farkasrt, Farkasvlgy, Istenhegy, Jnoshegy, Kissvbhegy, Krisztinavros, Ktvlgy, Magast, Mrtonhegy, Nmetvlgy, Orbnhegy, Sashegy, Svbhegy, Szchenyihegy, Virnyos, Zugliget.
