Hariprasad Chaurasia

Hariprasad Chaurasia (born 1 July 1938) is a famous Bansuri flute artist. Born in Allahabad, India, he was a student of Pt. Bholanath Prasanna and Annapurna Devi. As a performing artiste, Chaurasia is as much a traditionalist as he is an innovator, preserving the traditional indian style of Ragas, as well as playing with jazz musicians like John McLaughlin, Jan Garbarek and Chris Hinze on the flute.
