hard boiled (comic)

Hard Boiled is Frank Miller's loose graphic novel adaptation of Philip K. Dick's "Do androids dream of electric sheep". The same source material for Ridley Scott's cult favourite "Blade Runner". This hyper-kinetic, bullet-riddled, acid trip take on cyber punk features Geoff Darrow's (concept artist on the Matrix trilogy) impossibly intricate artwork as a strong selling point. Miller's usual trademark of dark, emotionally complex characters in pathos is still ever-so slightly present but takes the back seat to the gory splash pages galore. Plans for a film adaptation starring Nicolas Cage were rumoured to be in the works but this has yet to be confirmed.
