Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi

The Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK, or 中国汉语水平考试) is the proficiency test for the Chinese language with the greatest international recognition. There are three levels to the test:
  • Basic: for 100-800 hours of classroom instruction
  • Elementary-Intermediate: for 400-2000 hours of classroom instruction
  • Advanced: for over 3000 hours of classroom instruction
