Hans Dulfer

Hans Dulfer was born on May 28, 1940 in Amsterdam/The Netherlands. In the mid-fifties he touched his first tenor-saxophone. At seventeen Hans embarked his musical career that lasts to this very day. Jazz was his first love and it will be his last. However this (Jazz)-attitude - as Hans likes to spell out - is not limited to a specific historical period. Hans disobeys what is done and not done in well defined genres. - He is called "master chef of total crossover". His style might be called "jazzmetaltriphopfunkraprockgroove"... Hans picks up just about anything that is musically hip at for the moment. He even tuned in to punk attitudes only to find out that he had been a punk at heart all is life. (cited by EMI music) Home in Amsterdam Hans is a living legend. There he has influenced generations of musicians and to date likes to work with young musicians. He is well known not merely in The Netherlands; indeed, he is internationally successful. He is especially popular in Japan, where his performances are celebrated as huge parties with screaming crowds.
