Halle, North Rhine-westphalia

Halle (also called Halle in Westfalen in order to distinguish from Halle%2C_Saxony-Anhalt) is a town in the German Bundesland of North_Rhine-Westphalia. It lies in the western part of the state, south of Osnabrck and east of Mnster. Population: 21,000 (2004).

History

Halle is mentioned in historical documents as early as 1246.
