Hms Ithuriel (H05)

HMS Ithuriel (H05) was an I-class destroyer laid down as Gayret for the Turkish Navy by Vickers Armstrong Naval Construction Works at Barrow-in-Furness on 24 May 1939, launched on 15 December 1940 and commissioned on 3 March 1942. In World War II, she took part in Operation Pedestal, the escorting of a convoy to Malta in August 1942. Ithuriel was attacked by enemy German aircraft at Bone in Algeria on 28 November 1942 and damaged beyond repair. See HMS Ithuriel for other ships of this name. Ithuriel
