hifk (ice hockey)

HIFK, IFK Helsingfors rf, also known as Big Red Cats, is a Finnish ice hockey team playing in SM-liiga based at Helsingin jhalli (capacity 8100), Helsinki. Their club was established in Helsinki in 1897 as Idrottsfrening Kamraterna i Helsingfors (IFK). The club undertook ice hockey activites after 1927. HIFK has won the Finnish SM-liiga championship title six times of which the latest one was achieved in 1998.
