In the animated Pokmon series it is a fierce, sea-dwelling Pokmon which is never submissive in battle. Gyarados also appears in recent additions to the Pokmon Game Boy Advance games Pokmon Ruby and Sapphire. It also appears in previous versions of Pokmon- Red, Blue, Yellow, Silver, Gold, and Crystal. In one of the Pokemon episodes, Misty comes back with Ash, Brock, May, and Max. They battle a mysterious character who has a Shedinja and two Ninjasks. Later, Misty sends out Gyarados to use flamethrower attack on them.
