Guillaume Rondelet

Guillaume Rondelet (1507-1566), professor of medicine at the university of Montpellier in southern France. Famed as a teacher, Rondelet was also the author of a book on the natural history of fishes. He may have been the model for Dr. Rondibilis in the Tiers livre of Franois Rabelais.
