greifswalder oie

Greifswalder Oie is a small island in the Baltic Sea, located east of Rgen on the German coast. From Greifswalder Oie between 1937 and 1945 numerous rockets were launched from Greifswalder Oie. Thus there were the attempts o lanching A3 rockets in December 1937, which all failed and between 1938 and 1942 the almost successful launches of the A5 rockets. Also 28 A4-rockkets were launched from Greifswalder Oie between 1943 and 1945 vertically. These launches were made in order to watch the reentrance of the A4-rockets in the atmosphere.
