Grasmere

For the neighborhood in Staten Island, New York, USA, see Grasmere, Staten Island Grasmere is a village in central Cumbria in the north of England, and is also the name of the adjacent lake. Grasmere's position in the centre of the English Lake District has made it popular as a tourist destination. The town is overlooked by the small rocky hill of Helm Crag, popularly known as 'The Lion and the Lamb' due to the shape of rock formations on its summit. William Wordsworth lived in Dove Cottage, in the hamlet of Town End, near Grasmere.
