Grard Grisey

Grard Grisey (1946 - 1998) is French composer of contemporary music. He studied with Olivier Messiaen in Conservatoire of Paris, and he obtained the Prix de Rome. In 1972 he attended Darmstadt summer courses taught by Karlheintz Stockhausen, Gyrgy Ligeti and Iannis Xenakis. His music is often called spectral music. He searched for a spectre of tone color between harmonic overtones and noise.
