Governor Of Columbus, Ga

The only city in the United States that has a mayor as well a governor is the city of Columbus located in Georgia. The mayor of Columbus oversees only the city council and the governor oversees all other city departments such as law enforcment and city planning. The governor of Columbus is elected to 8 year terms and there are no term limits. The current governor of Columbus, GA is the Honorable William H. W. "Heath" Porter Jr. III. The city of Columbus has gone through an economic boom since Governor Porter was first elected in 1996. A civic center was built in 1998 and a new public safety building in 2001.
