Golkar

Golkar (Indonesian Sekretariat Bersama Golongan Karya, or Joint Secretariat of Functional Groups) is a political party in Indonesia. Before 1999 it was the governing party under former president Suharto. After the 1999 legislative election, it captured 120 of 500 seats in the Indonesian House of Representatives, making it the second largest party. It is currently led by Jusuf Kalla. Golkar gained 128 out of 550 seats in the 2004 legislative election.
