Gleicheniopsida - Subclass: Gleicheniatae
- Subclass: Hymenophyllatae
- Subclass: Hymenophyllopsitae
The ferns in the class Gleicheniopsida were formerly all included in the order Polypodiales. However, it is clear that the ferns are much too diverse a group to be shoehorned into one order. In fact, it may be found that this class needs to be divided into at least two classes.
