Gleditsia

See text Gleditsia is a genus of locust trees in the family Fabaceae, subfamily Caesalpinioideae, native to North America and Asia. The latin name commemorates Gottlieb Gleditsch, director of the Berlin Botanical Gardens, who died in 1786. This genus is related to the Acacias of tropical Africa. There are 12 species:
