The Glass children were featured in several J.D. Salinger short stories, and are presented below in order from oldest to youngest. Their mother is Bessie Glass. They all appeared on the fictional TV quiz show It's a Wise Child.

Seymour Glass (1917-1948) -- the eldest, committed suicide
Buddy Glass -- have narrated the story Zooey, and is sometimes considered to be Salinger's alter ego
Boo Boo Glass -- actual name is Beatrice, is a mother
Walt Glass -- died in World War II
Waker Glass -- is a priest. Walt and Waker are twins
Franny Glass -- featured in the story Franny
Zooey Glass -- featured in the story Zooey, and considered to be the second most gifted among the children, after Seymour

Because the characters in the Wes Anderson movie The Royal Tenenbaums are often compared to the Glass Family, it is interesting to notice that Boo Boo is married to a "Mr. Tannenbaum", as described in the story Down at the Dinghy. See also: fictional crossover
