Geography to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 392.2 km² (151.4 mi²). 87.7 km² (33.8 mi²) of it is land and 304.6 km² (117.6 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 77.65% water. Demographics As of the census2 of 2000, there are 1,063 people, 475 households, and 328 families residing in the town. The population density is 12.1/km² (31.4/mi²). There are 1,159 housing units at an average density of 13.2/km² (34.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 97.93% White, 0.19% African American, 0.19% Native American, 0.19% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.94% from other races, and 0.56% from two or more races. 1.60% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 475 households out of which 19.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.3% are married couples living together, 4.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 30.9% are non-families. 25.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.24 and the average family size is 2.65.
