A gibibit is a unit of information or computer storage. 1 gibibit = 230 bits = 1 073 741 824 bits mebibit << gibibit << tebibit The gibibit is closely related to the gigabit, which can either be a synonym for gibibit, or refer to 109 bits = 1 000 000 000 bits, depending on context. A gibibit is also known as a binary gigabit.
