Georges LeclanchGeorges Leclanch (1839 - September 14, 1882) was a French electrical engineer. He graduated from the cole Centrale Paris engineering school in 1860. In 1866 he invented the Leclanch cell, one of the first electrical batteries and the forerunner of the modern dry cell battery. There is a street in Paris, Rue Georges Leclanch, named after him.
