Genlock
Genlock
(for
Gen
erator
Lock
) is a technique where the output of one system is used to
synchronize
another. Genlock is a common technique in
video
and
digital audio
engineering. When two systems are synchronized in this way, they are said to be
genlocked
. Genlocking can be used between two isolated machines, or in a wider facility where all the systems are locked to a single
master clock
generator.
