Gary Louris

Gary Louris, best known for fronting The Jayhawks, is a guitarist, singer, and songwriter of alternative country music. His guitar work often fuses elements of Nashville country riffs in the details and solos. His singing voice is just beneath the falsetto strata. Louris' vocal arrangements often feature harmonies. Some cite his best work as the collaborations with Mark Olson. Vignettes of Louris' include Nothing Left to Borrow (Tomorrow the Green Grass, 1995), Waiting for the Sun (Hollywood Town Hall, 1992), You Look so Young (Save it for a Rainy Day, 2003) and the arrangement of Baby, Baby, Baby (Smile, 2000).
