Garden City

Garden City is the name of several places in the United States of America: Garden City is also an affluent neighbourhood of Cairo, Egypt. "Garden City" is a moniker of Bangalore, India and Victoria, British Columbia. "Garden City" is also a nickname of the city-state of Singapore as well, which is known for its greenery. The Garden City was also a generic new town plan developed by Ebenezer Howard, a British urban planner who proposed developing smaller suburban cities connected to major cities. The British new town movement developed from these ideas. Only two British cities, Letchworth and Welwyn are properly referred to as Garden Cities, with Welwyn usually referred to by its full name, Welwyn Garden City and Letchworth usually by its short form.
