Garabr

Garðabr is a municipality in the Greater Reykjavk area of Iceland. As of 2004, its population was 9,000.

History

Originally, when Iceland was settled in the 9th century, there were two farms on the present-day area of Garðabr. Their names were Vfilsstaðir and Sklastaðir. Vfilsstaðir was named after Vfill, a one-time servant of Inglfur Arnarson, the first settler of Iceland.
