Gar Samuelson

Gar Samuelson, born in 1958, was the drummer for the heavy metal band Megadeth from 1983 through 1987. His work can be heard on the Megadeth albums Killing Is My Business... And Business Is Good! (1985) and Peace Sells... But Who's Buying? (1986). Since his departure from Megadeth due to substance abuse, Gar has played in one other band. He and his brother Stew along with Billy Brehme, Travis Karcher and Andy Freeman would form Fatal Opera and release a self titled album in 1995 and the Eleventh Hour in 1997. Gar passed away, reportedly due to liver failure, on July 14, 1999.
