. Fundin was killed beneath the East Gate of
Khazad-dum
in the climatic
Battle of Azanulbizar
during the
War of the Dwarves and Orcs
. After the battle, all of the fallen
Dwarves
, Fundin included, were stripped of their armour and weaponry by their kinsmen, and were burnt upon pyres of wood.
