Frisco Soccer And Entertainment Center

The Frisco Soccer and Entertainment Center is a stadium expected to open in April 2005. The stadium is being built by the city of Frisco, Texas for the Major League Soccer team F.C. Dallas, which will relocate from the Cotton Bowl in central Dallas to the fast-growing suburb. The stadium is expected to cost $65 million, and to be completed in mid-summer of 2005. The stadium will hold in the area of 20,000 spectators, but one end of the stadium will not have seats, but will instead have a permanent stage for hosting concerts. Like many of the soccer-specific stadiums being built around the country, it is expected that the Frisco Soccer and Entertainment Complex will make a significant amount of revenue by hosting mid-sized concerts, as well as various other sporting events, such as high-school football games. The center also has a large number of additional fields outside the main stadium. Likely these fields will be used as practice fields by F.C. Dallas, but will also be utilized for hosting youth soccer tournaments and the like.
