. The British victory helped to ensure their naval supremacy throughout the

. D'Aigalliers was born in Rue Boucairie,
Uzes
,
Gard
,
France
in a house which now bears a plaque with his name. He was killed when his ship
L'Orient
exploded at
Abukir
