frank porter graham

Frank Porter Graham (14 October 1886 - 16 February 1972) was a Democratic U.S. Senator from the state of North Carolina between 1949 and 1950. Graham served as president of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 1930 to 1949; the students' union building at the university is named in his honor. The Graham Memorial Building, on campus and adjacent to Franklin Street, is also named in his honor. It boasts a lounge, a coffee shop, a multimedia lab, several classroom facilities, and the honors advising program.
