Frank Lubin

Frank Lubin (Lith. Pranas Lubinas; 1910 January 7 - 1999 July 8) - basketball player, Olympic champion with US team in 1936 Berlin and European champion with Lithuanian team in 1939 Kaunas. Often called Grandfather of Lithuanian basketball as he promoted basketball in Lithuania and helped Lithuania win its second European championship in a row. Born in 1910 January 7, in East side of Los Angeles in family of lithuanian emigrants, studied at UCLA University and was entered into the UCLA hall of fame in 1997, played in AAU tournaments for about 30 years. Husband of Mary Agnes Wahlmeier Lubin from 1935 until his death in 1999.
