Force Of Evil

Force of Evil (also called The Numbers Racket) is a 1948 film noir film about a man who wants to unite all of the numbers rackets under his control, but runs afoul of his brother, who is one of the little guys. It stars John Garfield, Thomas Gomez and Marie Windsor. The movie was adapted by Abraham Polonsky and Ira Wolfert from Wolfert's novel Tucker's People. It was directed by Polonsky. The film has been selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry.
