Football U-17 World Championship

The Football U-17 World Championship is the world championship of football for male players under the age of 17 and is organized by Fdration Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). The first edition was hosted by China in 1985 and was won by Nigeria. It has taken place in all odd-numbered years since, with Brazil leading the way with three wins. African countries have also been successful: both Nigeria and Ghana won the tournament twice. The age limit was switched from 16 to 17 starting in 1991.
