Five Classics

The Five Classics (五經, Wǔjīng) is a corpus of five ancient Chinese books used by Confucianism as the basis of studies. According to tradition, they were compilated or edited by Confucius himself.
  1. The Classic of Poetry (詩經, Shījīng)
  2. The Classic of History (書經, Shūjīng)
  3. The Book of Changes (I Ching) (易經, Yjīng)
  4. The Classic of Rites (禮記 Lǐj)
  5. The Spring and Autumn Annals (春秋, Chūnqiū)
