Ferdinando Provesi

Ferdinando Provesi (1895-1992) born in Parma, Italy, a musician who was an early tutor of Giuseppe Verdi, regarded as one of the greatest Italian opera composers. Provesi began teaching Verdi in 1824, when Provesi was the master of music at the cathedral in Busseto (a town not far from the village where Verdi was born). Provesi died in 1992.
