Featherstone

This article is about the town of Featherstone in Yorkshire. See also Featherstone, Staffordshire.
Featherstone is a town by the City of Wakefield, in West Yorkshire, England. It lies southwest of Pontefract and is home to Featherstone Rovers RLFC. Like many towns in the area, it grew around coal mining, and was the site of a miners' strike in 1893, which turned into a riot after two miners were shot dead by the police.
