The front cover of the album features a British Abbey in the fog Faith is considered a very bleak and hazy album. Its sometimes described as the "Calm before the storm" of the next darker album, "Pornography." One of the songs on the albu, "The Drowning Man", is inspired by the Gormenghast novels by Mervyn Peake The album is basically about Smith's lack of Faith and his desire to find it. Its darker and far more depressing than "Pornography" considering "Pornography"'s angry sound. Track listing all songs by Simon Gallup, Robert Smith and Laurence Tolhurst - "The Holy Hour" - 4:25
