• Federal Commonwealth Society
• Federation of Conservative Students, student arm of the United Kingdom's Conservative Party.
• Fellow of the Chemical Society
• Fire Control System – a mechanical or electronic computer system for directing gun fire towards military targets so as to attain the optimal distribution of fire for damaging said targets, suppressing return fire from active ones (i.e. enemy batteries and other weapon platforms)
• First Customer Ship – a marketing term implying an early version of a product (literally, the first version to be shipped), beyond beta testing and available for general distribution (cf. development stage); no implication of any relevance to naval ships
• Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy
• Frame Check Sequence – the extra checksum characters added to a Frame for error detection and correction; FCS is used in X.25, HDLC, Frame Relay, and other data link layer protocols
