Evanston, WyomingEvanston is a city located in Uinta County, Wyoming. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 11,507. It is the county seat of Uinta County. Geography Evanston is located at 41°15'48" North, 110°57'53" West (41.263302, -110.964616). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 26.7 km² (10.3 mi²). 26.5 km² (10.2 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.39% water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 11,507 people, 4,058 households, and 2,937 families residing in the city. The population density is 433.9/km² (1,123.2/mi²). There are 4,665 housing units at an average density of 175.9/km² (455.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 92.29% White, 0.16% African American, 1.06% Native American, 0.40% Asian, 0.08% Pacific Islander, 4.15% from other races, and 1.87% from two or more races. 7.29% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 4,058 households out of which 44.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.3% are married couples living together, 11.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 27.6% are non-families. 23.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.77 and the average family size is 3.30. In the city the population is spread out with 33.4% under the age of 18, 9.4% from 18 to 24, 30.1% from 25 to 44, 20.0% from 45 to 64, and 7.2% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 31 years. For every 100 females there are 101.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 97.4 males. The median income for a household in the city is $42,019, and the median income for a family is $47,220. Males have a median income of $35,843 versus $21,710 for females. The per capita income for the city is $16,725. 11.7% of the population and 9.1% of families are below the poverty line.
