Evacuation (Israeli Politics)

In Israeli politics Evacuation refers to the forced removal of people of Jewish identity from their homes in territory handed over to Arabs, and the accompanying destruction of their property, as part of the policy of Land for Peace. It bears similarity to the forced removals conducted by the former Apartheid regime of South Africa but differs in that Apartheid was symmetrical with each group having its own area in which members of other groups were forbidden to reside. Under Land for Peace, evacuation is only performed on the Jewish populations and only Jews are forbidden from residing in certain areas.
