Eugene Aserinsky

Eugene Aserinsky was a graduate student at Univeristy of Chicago in 1952 when he discovered REM sleep. Nathaniel Kleitman and Aserinsky pioneered procedures that have now been used with thousands of volunteers using the electroencephalograph.
