EscuintlaEscuintla (sometimes spelled Esquintla) is a small city in south central Guatemala. It is the capital of the department of Escuintla. The city of Escuintla is located at 14.30North, 90.78West. In 2003 the city had a population of about 68,000 people. It is on the border of the central highlands and the Pacific coastal plain.

It is made of the municipalities of Escuintla, Santa Luca Cotzumalguapa, La Democracia, Siquinal, Masagua, Tiquisate, La Gomera, Guanagazapa, San Jos, Iztapa, Paln, San Vicente Pacaya, and Nueva Concepcin.
