) was the 61st
imperial ruler
of
Japan
. He ruled from
930
to
946
. He was a son of
Emperor Daigo
and Empress Inshi, a daughter of
Fujiwara no Mototsune
. In his reign
Taira no Masakado
staged a rebellion in
Kanto region
and denominated himself New Emperor, but the rebel was put down at last. He was succeeded by his younger brother,
Emperor Murakami
.
