Elevator Pitch

The Elevator pitch is the concise description of an idea in the time span of an elevator ride, or a few minutes. Typically used when referring to entrepreneurs trying to pitch an idea to a venture capitalist or top executives in order to receive funding. The term is also used by VC's as a test for good ideas; passing the elevator pitch means the VC is interested after a short description of the idea. VC's will ask entrepreneurs for the elevator pitch to weed out bad ideas in the shortest amount of time.
